D.I.Y. Skate Set Up

The rippers over at Deluxe created this how-to video to assist the set up of your new skate deck. From applying grip to pressing bearings, this video covers all the bases.

What you'll need...

If you are going the D.I.Y. route for assembling your skate deck, have the following items on hand.

Parts

  • 1x Deck

  • 1x Griptape

  • 2x Trucks

  • 4x Wheels

  • 8x Bearings

  • 8x Bolts

  • 8x Nuts

Tools

  • 1x Box Cutter

  • 1x Skate Tool

  • 1x File or Screwdriver for edging the grip tape

Optional

  • 4x Bearing Spacers

  • 2x Riser Pads

  • 2x Deck Rails

TIP:

We recommend a skate tool when assembling your skateboard. They're the best option, containing a combination of all the neccessary tools for assembly. If you don’t have a skate tool, you can also use the following conventional tools: phillips screwdriver or 6mm allen key, depending on hardware bolts and 13mm and 14mm open wrenches for hardware and kindpin nuts.
